Velocity Powerboats' history spans more than four decades. Following the company’s successful racing career in the early 1960’s, it shared its racing experience to the boating industry developing the “Notched Transom and Pad Bottom”. Following its launch, it was one of the greatest concepts in offshore boat designs since the introduction of the deep-V hull. The Velocity bottom was 10 to 15 mph faster with the same power than any of its competitors. In the 1980’s Velocity partnered with Gene Whipp and officially broke the 100 mph mark in the APBA-sanctioned Kilo races, piloting the VR1 Velocity. This proven racing machine is still one of the most sought after boats in the performance world.
