In 1998, Crusader was acquired by the Pleasurecraft® Marine Engine Company, a highly regarded inboard manufacturer for over 38 years. The union created the Pleasurecraft Engine Group, which is now the leading manufacturer of gasoline inboards in the world. With state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and a strong focus on research and development, Crusader inboards are built specifically for the rigors of offshore use.

Captain's Club

Owners of new Captain’s Choice inboards automatically become members of the Captains Club when they register their engines, an exclusive program that provides a level of customer service not found elsewhere in the industry.

Club members have exclusive toll-free access to the “Club Concierge,” a special customer service representative who can make sure parts and service needs are met through the nearest qualified Crusader dealer.

In addition, members receive a free one-year Gold Card Membership from Sea Tow®, the country’s largest marine assistance network. With outlets in every state, Sea Tow provides a year of free towing, free fuel drops, free jump starts, etc. Finally, eligible members may enjoy further discounts on Sea-Safe® vessel insurance, famous in the industry for their low rates.

Premium Cooling System

Engine durability and longevity are directly impacted by the quality of the cooling system. Crusader uses a modular water pump and a full freshwater system to cool both the engine block and the manifolds. Our larger diameter impeller, which is easily serviced, allows for more coolant flow.

The result is a highly durable system that guarantees optimal cooling for long life.

Premium Mounting System

Crusader’s No-Vibe mounting system offers the highest degree of adjust-ability in the industry. Larger, more robust and extremely heavy-duty, Crusader’s mounts ensure continuing perfect shaft alignment for years.

Sooner or later, however, the engine will have to be realigned as part of routine maintenance. The adjustable components of Crusader’s mounts are easy to realign because they are made of non-corrosive state-of-the-art composite materials, rather than plated steel which is subject to rust and galvanic corrosion.

The mounting system must be able to dampen and absorb vibration to keep it from being transferred to the hull through the stringer system. Crusader uses large rubber isolators to better isolate the vibration.

Crusader’s superior mounting system extends to the overall design, which positions the mounts close-in to the transmission at the mid-point, evenly distributing the weight for a stronger, more rigid hold. This position prevents movement, which would destroy the perfect alignment and vibration-free ride.

Precise Fuel Delivery

Electronic fuel injection (EFI) provides improved drive-ability, efficiency and performance. Today’s high performance EFI engines require the utmost in fuel delivery systems. Constant fuel flow to the injectors must be guaranteed, regardless of how choppy the water can get or how tight the turn. Therefore, the marine engineer is challenged to find a way to ensure fuel flow without the need for a specially designed fuel tank or other apparatus.

Crusader answers this challenge with exclusive, patented fuel delivery systems: the Crusader Fuel Control Cell. The FCC ensures proper fuel filtration and fuel delivery to the injectors, regardless of the conditions.

Sync N Cruz

Engine Synchronization. With a touch of a button, both engines are electronically synchronized to work as one.

Single Handle Throttle Control. The throttle setting for both engines can be adjusted with one throttle handle.

Fully Integrated Cruise Control. Set your preferred cruising speed with a touch of a button, then “bump” it up or down in 25 RPM increments. Use the “resume” feature to return the engines to cruising speed after no-wake or slow speed zones. Works much like automotive. cruise control.

All new Crusader Captain’s Choice marine engines are Sync-N-Cruz capable and these features are available as standard equipment on many boat manufacturers’ models.

Factory-trained technicians are educated through the most sophisticated training program in the industry – the Crusader E-Train. Courses on diagnostics, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair are available to Crusader Premier Dealers on-line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. After successfully completing the E-Train, technicians are thoroughly trained to service Crusader products.
