2018 Raider River Rider 20

The 4:00AM wakeup is quickly followed by the desperate need for a tall cup of coffee and some fresh sand shrimp. You stop by the recently opened bait shop surrounded by the familiar look of taillights gracing the roadside and parking lot as if in preparation for rush hour on a Friday.

While you settle in your favorite run the sounds of last nights rainfall beading down from the trees onto the freshly fallen fall leaves as you survey the river for its clarity and the hopeful splash of a fall Chinook moving up river. Dawn begins to peer through the trees and light the water when you drop your lines armed with a miscellany of bait brined on your wifes favorite kitchen table.

As you let your bait bounce back into the run the familiar feeling of rocks gracing the river bottom is quickly interrupted by the will power testing tug of a Chinook. Tug.TugTug, your inexperienced buddy expresses his concern and tells you to wait for it, wait for it. When the line peels you drive that hook deep and the boat abrupt with excitement like high school football players winning a nail biting division title game.
